Distribution of ID cards to the first group of students
Mr. Puazhendi, from the Medical Records Department who is also in charge of the DMRM course presents an ID card to a student.
The primary aim of this course is to prepare the health care professionals to handle a variety of responsibilities in maintaining medical records for health care facilities. The duration of the course is 15 months inclusive of 3 months internship. All candidates with a Plus 2 or HSC qualification preferably with biological sciences may apply for the course.
The entire course is administered free of charge to all the less privileged students in the rural areas who cannot otherwise afford to take the course. This will in turn provide a better opportunity for employment among the less privileged.

4. Anatomy & Physiology
5. Medical Terminology
6. Coding (ICD 10)
7. Communication Skills
Additional Course Information:
The course include lectures on medical terminology, preparation of periodical reports, hospital daily census, preparation of hospital statistics, medical records science, elementary pre and Para clinical subjects, ICD-10 coding, Communication skills in English and matters regarding hospital administration.
The first class has 6 students registered.
