During the function there were lectures on the care and prevention of diabetes. Advice were gvien on diet and exercise for patients with diabetes.There was also free screening of patients for early detection of the disease. Free brochures on Diabetes were distributed to everyone.

World Diabetes Day is celebrated all across the globe as it is the birthday of Dr. Frederick Banting, who, in 1921 together with Dr. Charles Best discovered insulin; the drug that has changed the lives of people with diabetes all around the world.
