Sri Narayani Proclamation Day -
12th Anniversary

On May 8th, 2004, it was a magnificent day for celebrating the ‘Proclamation’ of our Beloved Amma. On this day 12 years ago Amma proclaimed to all those assembled, the purpose of Amma’s Descent and Mission.

The day began with our Beloved Amma entering a packed Shanthi Mandapam with that special 1000 watt smile and graceful walk. After being seated, Pada Puja (washing of the feet) was performed by a group of devotees from Singapore followed by the worship with flowers (Malar Abhishekam). After the Aarathi was performed the devotees thronged to offer flowers to Amma.

Procession

The next highlight was the procession of the devotees carrying the 1008 milk pots. Devotees assembled at Sri Narayani Vidyalaya School from where the procession started . Over 1500 people devotees participated in the
procession led by the majestic Vaishanavi (elephant), dignified Adityan and Chandran (white horses) and the musicians playing various musical instruments. Over 1008 clay pots containing milk were carried. Amma lit the lamp and flagged the start of the procession. People were led in an orderly manner to and around the Peedam and then to the Swayambhu Temple where devotees performed the Milk Abhishekam (Pal Abhishekam) to the Swayambhu.

The pots are usually placed on the head or carried in the hand close to the chest. The significance of this is; just as pure as the milk in the pot, so too may my thoughts, words and deeds become.

In the evening Amma performed the Putthu (anthill) Puja. There was a continuous stream of devotees throughout the day. Prasadam (food) was distributed from dawn to dusk. It was a magnificent day which left devotees feeling immensely satisfied and joyful after receiving Amma’s Darshan and Prasadam.
