**Manthramayī** - Oh The ONE Who pervades the whole mantra,

**Mantrāthmikaye** - The ONE Who Is The Very Soul of The Mantra.

**Mādhava Sōdharī Manthramayī** - You are Madhava’s (Krishna/Vishnu) sister,

**Mahisha Samhārinī Manthramāyī** - You are The One Who Destroyed Mahisha, the demon.

**Madhava** - Krishna, Vishnu.

**Sōdharī** - sister (sahodari poetically becomes sodhari).

**Mahisha** - an asura, a demon who took the form of a buffalo and was slain by Devi (Sri Chamundeshwari Temple near Mysore; Chamundai - Devi who slayed the asuras Chanda and Munda) - mentioned in Devi Mahatmyam; (The famous song Ayigiri Nandini Nanditha Medhini sings Her Praise as Mahishasura Mardini - slayer of Mahishasura).

**Samhārinī** - The One Who Destroyed.
